I'd hate to do that as well. Why the need to cut? They weren't that high. You could have potted them into really big pots.

I don't even plan on cutting off the leaves on mine since I'm wrapping it up in many layers and building a nice fortress over mine

i had no choice i have 1large and 1small banana plants inside house now-not too mention 3 pineapple plants 1large avacoda a aloe vera and sum bamboo plants as well-ma says enuff is enuff-LOL-thats why i cut them down to fit a 55gallon bucket and then insulate them well cuz theyll be going into a UN-heated garage-will they survive?
