Taylor, it is not only the color of the trunk, it is the straightness of the trunk without being slightly bulbus, the base is also not bulbus like the Cuban form (that is most common on FL streets) and when it fruits the color of it is also another difference. In the Cuban form regia, they are reddish, in the elata and Puerto Rican form they are more purple. The Cuban form does not grow as tall as the threaten Florida form elata.
