Walipini Project - Getting down about 5 feet

I am working on a sunken greenhouse called a Walipini. These are reportedly widely used in rural Bolivia. I got the idea from a project that was built by Brigham Young University. You should find their report here:

That look like a great project. What about drainage though? Maybe an emergency sump pump? I'm hoping to have the time to build something for my bananas before the fall here in Massachussetts. Maybe a lean to or enclosing the pergola that I have some plans for. Best of luck with your project. I know that the earth will provide a stable temp for the greenhouse.
