Marenmar, Yes, M. basjoo is most commonly associated with the Japanese word "basho" (but that word actually means little more than "Musa"). It is the yellow-flowered, cold-tolerant banana most popular in Europe. Did you check the size of your seeds? M. basjoo seeds are quite big! If they are about 8-100mm long and 4mm high, they almost certainly are M. basjoo!

Hi Matt,
I forgot to look at the size...mine aren't that big, 6mm or so, defenitely not 8-10. The white/creamy part of the seeds is very similar to the basjoo's. I haven't seen any seeds like these yet, that's why I thought mine were Basjoo. Do you know any type of seeds which look like ours?

Because the cultivated species of banana are triploid in main production area in Asia
