These show how much the peat in the bog pond broke down in a three year period. Almost eighteen inches total. It took me lifting all of the plants (as you can see in the photo) like a carpet and then filling in with soaked peat. Two bales of peat later, I am now able to seek out my prized plants and get them back in before they all wake up for the season! Some are already peeking out, so my timing was good. Don't want to disturb any new root growth!
