I hate to correct you, because I'm not 100% sure, but this isn't the Musa 'Super Dwarf Cavendish'. The best guess would be, that it's the larger, more vigorous version Musa 'Dwarf Cavendish'.
Why do I say so? I've had Cavendishes for quite some time, but my SDC have not grown to that size even after 4 months of growing in superb conditions. Besides, the leaves on SDC are much more round-shaped, not like this, your plant's leaves are long and resemble ellipse much more. SDC's have similar leaves only when they are adult, but definitely not when they are this young.

Thnx to Marcel, Ante, Dr. Chiranjit Parmar and Francesco for the plants I've received. Jack Daw, maybe the one in the picture is 'super dwarf' and the plants you have are 'little prince.' I purchased one with the name 'super dwarf' and after 1 year it is still less than 8" tall with some red splotched leaves. Mine is definately not super dwarf but something much smaller, perhaps, that one in the picture is 'super dwarf' and your's and mine are something smaller?

There are a few super dwarf growing locally, the tallest I've observed is 4ft tall, and another set in another location is on its second generation at about 3ft after a full year of growth it is fully mature.

I would say cavendish under 5ft would be 'super dwarf' and anything smaller than 2ft 'tiny,' 'little prince,' or super-super dwarf? Sorry I don't know the names.

Let me know what you guys think? Take care.

Just to clarify, this plant was purchased as a Musa 'mini' super dwarf cavendish, but after careful scrutiny of the website where I bought it (green earth...www.banana-plants.com) I noticed the URL says '/high-color-mini/.' Thus based on this info and what others on this site have told me, it's most likely a 'high color mini' super dwarf cavendish. It's probably about 16" tall right now and growing steadily. According to the site it is supposed to get 3-4' tall at maturity. Oh, and this pic is taken 2 months LATER than the first photo of it when I got it...the plant is more than 2 months old...not sure exactly how old, but it was about 8-10" when I received it.

Cheers!

I sure do have Musa 'Super Dwarf Cavendish'. And so does the Botanical garden, they have all the varieties: Little Prince, SDC and of course Dwarf Cavendish in the same greenhouse and I compared mine to their. Pretty sure I do have the SDC. Up to 1,2 metres :D
