What are you trying to filter out, Robby?


You should have the filter "before" your pumps otherwise the pumps will crap out.


Did you just fill it up with sand or something? Let it settle for a few days and see how clear it gets. When I used to set up saltwater fish tanks, it would take almost a week for the silt to settle down after filling up.

oh thanks but i gave it about 10 days to clear up-its just plain sand only and i have heavy duty sump-pump i have rigged up!

I would have plumbed it differently, like a saltwater tank w/ overflow ordeal. Tough to explain if you've never seen it. But, since you already have it plumbed, give it a whirl and see what happens.


I think that the basket/towel situation will clog up quickly and probably run over the basket too - it should do the trick but may take awhile.
