These are the biggest pups I have dealt with yet and it looks like "mom" needs to be planted deeper to encourage the roots forming higher up on the new corm to grow. This reminded me so much of how my elephant ears look in the spring.

Interesting. Let us know what you decide to do in this case. Bury"mom" deeper ore leave as is . I'm not sure what I'd do but would probably leave it the same depth at this point.

I removed the pups, burried "mom" about 4 inches deeper and had 6 new pups which out grew the main plantin height and thickness by late summer
