I got started with bananas by buying 4 in one gallon pots at a roadside stand for $1.00 each while visiting my brother near Knoxville TN (Maryville) in the summer of 2007. I had been separating the pups from the mother plants as soon as they seemed large enough. With this one however, I liked the full look of the mother and the two babies, so I let them grow together all summer 2008. Now on a very rare 65 degree day: Feb 12, 2009, I am dividing and repotting them hopefully to hasten our Spring and summer! |
