This plant is solanum quitoense (naranjilla)--I'll have more plants like it for sale this spring. It was my first year growing them and I'll have to say it makes a very cool looking plant. Some of them have big thorns and some of them are just fuzzy, but they all look purplish and fuzzy on the leaves. With large leaves. My largest one got up to about 4 feet tall, but I understand they can be carried over and grown for many years. This one pictured is the big one and it's in a 3 gallon pot. I'm going to bump it up for spring and see how big it gets, I've heard they can go to 10 feet. supposedly it's hard to get them to fruit, but all the ones I planted out in the ground got fruit on them this year, but they didn't mature because of the cold weather setting in. They look a lot like an eggplant only fuzzy and much larger leaves.
