I finally found a reference to Gluay Khai, actually I thought it was spelled Gly Kia. It is called Egg Banana in Thailand. Anyone had any experience with these?

I have been searching for information on this plant today. It was spelled 'Glui Kai' on several lists and that's what I searched for . I knew that Gluay = banana in Thailand but didn't think to search for that.

I'm from Thailand. The banana name is Gluay Khai, meaning Egg banana just like what Chong said. The fruit is very sweet. Many Asian grocery stores sell a similar (or could even be the same) type of banana called 'finger banana' or 'baby banana' or Nino.
