Sword Pup and Water Suckers on a stand of Jamaican Red.
The water suckers are closer to where the last pseudostem was to bloom. I imagine they are attached to the remains of that pseudostem rather than this mother pseudostem that persists.

I would say you are right about sword spike and water suckers.
To get a double from a mahoi , the sucker needs to stay attached to the mother plant.
