Banana garden at the pond January 2012
Last Comment Posted Musa xishuangbannaensis? at the pond January 2012
Yes, could be planted in the container at the first. But it get very big, it is one of the biggest banana wild species. It can also grow to 15 m! My plant is planted at the pond in my yard in Brazil at my second residence where I do live for 4 months every year. I am retired partically because of my eye disease. The place is halfshady and with high groundwater level, because the soil is sandy and on most other places in my yard bananas are growing not very well, too hot and dry, but the place at my pond is one of the best places for bananas!! There is also a special garden for rare wild banana species and hardy banana species to cross with fruit bananas to get basjoo hardy fruit bananas for colder areas of the U.S.A. and for the climate in Germany.
