Musa Itinerans var. Itinerans
Last Comment Posted Musa itinerans var. itinerans second pup - 4 feet away
Hello,

Sorry for asking, I know it is the most known characteristic, but does it produce a mix of pups, some growing at a distance and some close by? Or does it only and always sucker such a distance?

I am asking because I have germinated a supposed Musa itinerans var. itinerans from seed. It was stunted in its second year, but now in its 3rd year it is coming back well and started to sucker but very close to the base (3pups).
making me doubt if it is genuinely itinerans. Is it possible to sucker close by because of its bad growing season last year? Maybe the corm didn't grow too well.

Many thanks! For the pictures and hopefully some insight as well.
