I have a nice tree of Oro Blanco and they are great. Unfortunately, I can't usually eat them since I take a statin medication to control cholesterol and grapefruits can increase absorption ten-fold and cause kidney damage. Oro Blanco is actually a hybrid but it's not known how much of the compound causing this effect is present in it. Last year I was extra careful with my diet for a week and went off of my statin drug and ate my fill of them!
