Cherries like Yoshino and Kwanzan are very unhappy here because of the lack of chill hours they need to really bloom. Taiwan cherries are perfect for zones 8 and 9, are often multi-trunked. A big one would be 20 x 20, something like that.

The brown is dead leaves from the p[lant. I have taken six inches of mush from the top since then. I may actually be dead, but I am not for sure.
