Yeah...I've seen bananas like that too. I think I even tried a bite. It was just dry. There is a natural split between the three segments in the banana. I don't think there is anything to fear except for fear itself.

Bananas quite often have these blemishes due to either poor storage with gas or just a natural bruising caused by wind & handling! The only other thing I can think of is maybe some bug or spider made its home in there but it is most unlikely unless there is an obvious cavity with an outside entrance! I suggest your feelings are the result of anxiety ONLY & I hope by reading this you will calm down & realise you will be OK! Happy New Year to you & your new bubba!

Maybe low humidity, also watch out for spider mites on the bottom of the leaves. If there is a waxy feeling brown coating, its most likely spider mites.

How long has your temperature been in the 50s F? Your banana bunch looks very healthy but development will be slow with such low temperatures. Eventually your bananas will be ready for harvest but it could be a long time. Even down here at this time of year with average temperatures in the 60s F, highs in the 70s F and lows in the 50s F, bananas fill in slowly.
