I'd hate to do that as well. Why the need to cut? They weren't that high. You could have potted them into really big pots.

prop them up around the yard and tell the wife you got more banana plants and see how pissed off she gets...lol that's what I did

Mulch pile, throw them to some animals to eat, use the whole leaves to wrap a pork roast (I think it is Sandy that has a recipe or maybe Patty). ~J
