Underside of leaves are maroon. Every heliconia in existence is a zone 10 plant except Scheideana. It comes back every year from a freeze but only blooms on second year growth so bloom only show up every few years after a mild winter. all of my heliconia are container grown and live in my greenhouse for the winter.
