aupoet Hello neighbor, it sounds like you are right around the corner from me. I am sure chicken manure and hay will work just fine. I have been using Lesco tropical/palm fertilizer from Home Depot, it's like a 13-6-13 or something close to that, and I try to put the liquid miracle grow on every two weeks when I am here in town. I hear any 13-13-13 is fine but I've had good results with the Lesco even though it's pretty expensive (about $34 for 40 lbs). Sounds like your bananas are doing well also. What kind do you have? That is really great, hydroid. I am not too far from you, up here just south of hwy 98 in Baldwin County. I was able to save both of my bananas as 4/5 ft. stems this winter. They are up and growing now. I never thought they could possibly bloom as early as yours are around here. It really gives me hope for having my first fruits this year. What do you use for fertilizer? I have lots of chicken manure and rotted hay around mine. This will be their second summer. Rating: 10.00
