Richard,
You are my go to guy for info.
Besides my indoor Arboretum (which is doing great), I have a Manzano (7-8 feet tall) in a container that I have out on my deck. My intention is to bring the plant in this fall and put it in the basement. I was thinking of cutting all the leaves off (leave the "P" stem alone), pull the plant from the container and knock loose dirt from the corn, wrap the corn in burlap and that in a moist rag and wrap that in a plastic bag. Then place it in a dark cool room for the winter months.
Please critique what I am about to do.
Also I have noticed that you plants are in raised beds.
When I place the plant back in the ground I want to also put it in a raised bed. is it harmful if I have the soil come higher onto the stem to get the corn lower in the ground?
My goal is to have it fruit next year seeing I am not going to harm the stem.
Craig

That doesn't look like a Heliconia to me either. It looks more like a BANANA!
