Well... *some* deer may be attracted to the tobacco tea; for deer, we used little cloth bags with human hair sewn inside. (about 3" or 4" square/rectangle with a small wad of hair inside, tied onto branches of the trees about waist - chest height)
That works in Northern Wisconsin at least, probably won't work too well in areas where deer are very used to humans, or where people actually feed the critters.

Not many caterpillars/worms around here this time of the year, biggest pests are the scrub jays.
For general bug use I'm fond of "tobacco tea", though it's something that needs to be washed off before eating (if applied less than 3 - 4 weeks before harvest).
The grapes are habit forming enough all by themselves! };-)~
