Steelviper, Thanks for the info. What you wrote backs up what I've been reading. Hearing that it needs well drained soil worries me a bit as I didn't do anything special to the soil to make it well drained. It's just a mixture of compost and potting soil. I'll just have to be careful with it.

just a couple of tips about Heliconias. 1. they do not like cold. 2. need good draining soil. Rhizome will rot in very wet soil. 3. You will need a bigger pot in time. LOL. Beautiful plant.Good luck. Rating: 10.00
