Nice. I see you know what you are doing by chopping out the old growth, which will allow the plant to put up larger sized culms faster. Just make sure you never overdo it, because the clump needs to find a balance between having enough leaves for photosynthesis, and having enough root mass to supply the water needed for larger culms. Taking out the old allows the clump to focus on building larger culms. B. v.v. loves lots of water, and this is without a doubt the most important factor to its growth. Give it plenty of water, and don't worry about root rot, or anything else. It will thrive the more you give it.

Jordon looked at the photos and predicted a very rough time getting such a small pup to grow, especially this time of year. I'm doing my best to follow his suggestions with it, bringing it our doors in the warm sun by day (no leaves yet to sunburn, though I don't know that sunburnt white portions affect growth anyways) and bringing it in at sundown and placing it on a propagation mat and grow light). I'm still hopefull it will make it, but this is one that I really wanted badly so two would just be great!
