good question i see all these kinds of banana trees here in texas as well.....they grow like 10000000 feet tall but dont know what they are???? anyways getting like 1000000 of them sometime this month but i was told it has to rain so he can take them out but so far no rain :P

Thanks, Jewel and Dawg. To tell you the truth, I don't fertilize too much. I do usually put out one application of Scott's Bonus-S which is a fertilizer and pre-emergent combo for weeds. I hand pull some weeds and occasionally use a little Weed-B-Gone to knock out some broadleaf weeds in the grass, but not too often. I've been trying to go more organic and use mostly organic fertilizers lately.

I dont know what it is, but I do know that I find that a beautiful musa and I have a question: do the p-stems survive 20 F without problems?

No, I started with one very small plant (about the size that would fill a 1 gallon pot) and planted into the large pot you see in my pictures. The rhizomes are the result of one year of growth.
