Joe; I would bet most anything that what you have here is a variegated Heliconia called "Bangkok". Its a very unusual pattern of variegation and identical to that heliconia. It varies greatly from leaf to leaf and on most it starts from the midrib out. Be very careful with this heliconia when it comes to temperature-it is the least cold tolerant type I know of. I did have 2 big 7 gal pots of it and lost all of it one winter. If you ever get rooted rhizomes or extras, let me know, I would like to have this plant again!

Homemade Laminar flow hood. Made from a polypropylene storage box, a polyethylene kitchen wastebasket, a 3M filtrete filter, tons of clear duct tape, a bathroom fan and some silicone sealant. Works great, now we will find out if it can maintain a sterile work environment....
