I know it looks bad, but I bet the plant re-grows from the corm. Look at the bright side, they don't know that, so you might be able to get a free plant, and still have a praying hands! Not the way you had in mind, but hey - make some lemonade!

He doesn't look like that anymore. He is actually the biggest and prettiest banana plant I have. He lives happily in my front room. Even though he is inside he is still putting out new leaves and they are huge.
