Advice? Anyone? Since I bought them at a roadside stand in TN for $1 each are my bananas too generic to put in the thread so that someone might tell me what variety they might be? Also - I can work facebook and myspace, but I have somehow been clueless as to where I can download a profile pic for this site.

Thanks for sharing this amazing picture, when I have seen banana leaves ripped by the wind, they usually are sad and ratty looking, but your shredded leaves on the other hand are beautiful and actually very decorative!! looking like a larger version of the neighboring palm. But then maybe you really just got done cutting each of the leaves into perfect strips? lol

That is the best way to grow them, when put in a new wet climate like Florida, they are an invasive exotic. Good shot.
