I've never known that! And they are very common creatures in the Philippines. When I was a little kid, I used to play with their detached tails as they ran into cover. After it stopped wriggling, we'd throw the tail near the chickens and they fight over them. Could they be hermaphroditic? We commonly see couples in coital position. Or is that just "palling" around? Thanks, Jarred, It's interesting that a lot of the "pests" we used to get rid of, end up as "pets" here in the US. As I said in my post, they instill terror in most people in the Philippines, esp. the girls. We used to hunt them with slingshots. |
