Hi Bob,
From what I was told, it's an Ice Cream but, as they say, the real proof is in the pudding. Will be sending more photos as all 4 of them (and thier pups) progress. If you can see any actual proof-of-species (one way or another), please let me know.
Thanx, Michael James

Hi Bob,
Got me excited, too! Took the picture (with nearly all of the others) yesterday. Can't wait to see what the other ones do! Got a bunch of this type of elephant ear.
In case your curious, all the photos in this album were taken either in April or May of this year. The bamboo pics were all taken yesterday.

Hi Bob,
The containment wall is made of high-density polyethylene plastic. It's typically called a 'rhizome barrier'. It comes in 300 foot rolls (at about $4 per foot) and is 60 mil thick (a tad thicker than a credit card). Also, there is about a 10 cents per foot shipping fee. The wall I bought is 30 inches wide and the seam is secured using a 2-sided tape with polypropylene glue.
The width, of the wall, is buried (vertically but at a slight angle outward from the contained section) about 29 1/2 inches in the ground; it works best if you can reach clay, when you dig, and posthole diggers are a great tool for the job.
I abandoned the idea of using cement since it is notorious for developing cracks underground which the runners can penetrate. Metals are also out of the question due to rust which could poison the plants.
Unfortunately (due to the underground phone-line), I had to have two seams to form the wall (the fewer seams you have to seal, the better). Don't remember where I bought my barrier, just now, but I know Bamboosourcery.com stocks barriers to include the Moso-rating of 30" wide by 60 mil thick.
Hope this is of some help.
By the way, I noticed that each new photo I submit to my album seems to be popping up on the home page of Bamboo.org. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? The idea of pushing everybody else's great photos aside kind of bothers me.
