Yes, well, probably. It has pretty fall color then dies back to the ground. Common name is Japanese forest grass. You'll have to research it, that's outside my comfort zone!

enigma99 wasn't around this group back when this photo was taken, I believe. Plantation? Most of my bananas are in pots but I do have a dozen or so in the ground. You'll have to go to Jon's in San Diego to see something that resembles a plantation.
