Hang in there! My plant looked exactly like yours for many weeks and just started sending up full size leaves (3 months later). Now it has 2 full leaves and counting.

How tall is this plant?
We need something in the pic for scale.

I would like to see other shots of this one. I have two similar although not sure if exact. The largest of the two has had it's colour faded yet it's pup which is still small has the colour still showing. It was marked as a red dward musa from the nursery and was told to plant indoors which I didn't! Do the colours fade as the pseudostem grows?

I'm sure they love the nitrogen. You'll also want to give your fruiting bananas a potash supplement, 1.5 parts potash for each 1 part nitrogen. So for example, each 1 lb of 9-4-4 would be supplemented with 1 lb of something rated 0-0-9.
You paid $10 for 5-lb x 9% Nitrogen, that's $22 per net pound of Nitrogen.

I think Winsorw must have a better climate, living in a banana belt! Maybe you should compare soil, fertilization, and other cultural methods. I know of people with small pups who have much better luck in getting them to grow fast than me. I have a hard time deciding if I'm watering them enough or too much but I do have some that grow very well for me. My biggest mistake is I often pot them in a 5 gallon pot when a 1 gallon or 2 gallon would be a better choice since they don't get over-watered as easily and the soil warms up more.
