looks like a texas rat snake, or an eastern hog nose. either one is people friendly and maybe worth some money. the people at the snake farm in new braunfels used to buy snakes all the time. some will help keep rattle snakes away and kill the rattle snakes if they do come around. don't kill off the good ones if you can help it. some type of prey is drawing them to your house. good luck jimmmy

Damn! You beat me to it! I was just about to go back and correct this , and the other post where I said it was Ice Cream. Go read my thread over in the "welcomes" section, and youll see the full story. =o) I feel dumb for not remembering everything. Im usually extremely good at, and rather picky about plant ID's too. shame on me! It is in fact a Grand Nain, (Cavendish type)

If those are red splotches on the leaves, then this is not an Ice Cream. It looks kinda like a dwarf cavendish, maybe. If you are unsure, post the pics in the banana identification forum.

Those things can definitely be picky. I had an issue with mine last year where it was doing similar things. I honestly am not sure what I did that corrected it, but It did get better.
