Yellow jackets
So I was minding my own business, mowing the lawn, when all of a sudden I got lit up like a high tension wire. They were all over me; stuck to my pants and nailing me the whole way. I finally turned the hose on and sprayed them off, stamping every one I could in the meantime.
Note to self: Do not wear form-fitting jeans when mowing the lawn. I have 6 stings on one cheek and 5 on the other, in addition to a few on my arms, waist and one on the side of my head. Lost my phone in the process, but luckily someone called and I could hear the phone beep as I looked for it. I went back and found the nest. I dumped some gas down the hole and gave them a nice house warming party. That's the third nest this year, but the first one I missed. Little bass-turds.

Re: Yellow jackets
Ouch! That sucks! When I was a kid, I was out walking around in a field that was cleared for development within the past year or two and there was a small creek, only about 2 feet wide running through it. I leapt over at a clearing in the brush regrowing along it's banks and when I landed, the ground under me gave a bit and sounded sort of Hollow under me, but I kept walking. I soon heard a hum that was getting louder and Louder and turned to see a Giant Exclamation point rising out of the ground where I landed after my jump over the creek. I started running as fast as I my little legs could take me and looked over my shoulder to see a close up of a couple Yellow Jacket heads RIGHT behind me! I Kept running and Running until I thought I MUST have outrun them. When I stopped and turned, One Nailed me on the Eyelid! Luckily, I must have outrun most of them but my eye did swell shut from that one stink! Hated them ever since!

Re: Yellow jackets
A pot full of boiling water is a fast, easy, and cheap organic friendly alternative...

Re: Yellow jackets
I blew them up with gas, then squirted lighter fluid in it a couple of times. I just emptied a can of Hot Shot down the worm hole, so I think I got them.
Previously, the most I've been stung at one time was 3, so this was an all-out assault. I got nailed 14 times. Thank God I'm not allergic. Right now, it's like hemorrhoids: I have both the burn and itch, but starting tomorrow, I'm going to get the nasty itchies for about a week.

Re: Yellow jackets
Mix a bit of water and turmeric and rub it on your stings. You let it dry before covering. It stains a lot but it works. Once or twice should be enough.

Re: Yellow jackets
I thought I had some hydrocortizone cream in the drawer but it turned out to be Preparation H.
I just tried a little oil or oregano on one of them to see if it helps.
