Default The World According To Monsanto

In researching Monsanto I found this really powerful documentary. If you are concerned about one multi nation corporation controlling the worlds food supply then you will want to watch this.

The French documentary, called “The world according to Monsanto” and directed by independent filmmaker Marie-Monique Robin, paints a grim picture of a company with a long track record of environmental crimes and health scandals. 1:48:57

There is also a 10 part high def version available on Youtube.

The original is 1:48:57 The Google video has been renamed "Controlling our food" It's the top video on the page link I gave below. There is a 10 part high def version available on Youtube as well, or the DVD is available for sale.

This gells with me and reinforces why I eat no processed foods - no ready foods, no commercial processed meats, nothing with soya as far as I can manage, no canned added value items - especially anything from the USA - you never know what is hidden in there. Everything we eat is made ourselves from fresh local produce. Time consuming and people think we are strange not to take advantage of the conveniences (perhaps we are!! lol!). But I am happier making all my sauces, desserts, soups myself. Thank you for this information even though it winds me up for weeks!!

Some things never change.....and not for the better. Back in the early 90's before "Organic Gardening" became a womens magazine there were a constant stream of articles concerning Monsanto's environmental record and seeming total disregard for the environment and even people's welfare. Long arms and deep pockets continually win out over whatever may stand in the way. It seems to be a constant theme with big industry. Sure a few lives are invariably lost along the way.........at least profits are high! This isn't to say I'm against big business, just the continual nefarious practices that inevitably go along with them. I wish there was a real solution.

If they just spend half of what they spend on lobbying and paying off governments they could just fix the product and save them self's all the trouble of videos like this, bad products, and the public hating them in general. I have read about this before but never this company. They are not the only ones modifying plants so that a farmer has to spray his fields with their chemicals or the plants will not grow. I have also read that the next generation of these plants are sterile and the new seeds will not grow what so ever.

As for meat and dairy, I don't even see the point in these Growth Hormones, as they hurt the cattle, stop your cattle from reproducing, and hurt the end product (Milk and Meat) So really whats the point? How ever I am 100% for cloned Beef! Lots of selective breeding till you get what you want then carry on that ones cells and make a ton of really good beef. Cloning is better, safer, and healthy then any other solution provided by Monsanto.

I agree with Bob and Mike. Sad to say and we all know it but MONEY buys the POWER to CONTROL everything. How many times have your toes been stepped on? Monsanto is only one of many companies controling our future.

Cassie its good you don't eat Soy the food co, are suppressing the fact that it contains 300 times the normal amount of Estrogen then a woman would normally have in her blood stream thats right according to a study that cam out 3 years ago if a normal healthy adult woman drinks 8oz of soy milk within 8 hr here estrogen levels will be 300 times normal and they wonder why American Woman have high Premenstrual syndrome are food supply is laced with the stuff

not to mention this is not something most people seem to know but did you know that American Men have some of the highest sterility rates in the western world hmmmm the fist thing to happen to a man when he is given estrogen is he becomes Sterile

so don't drink it and contrary to popular believe its not a good substitute for milk allergy in children as a mater of fact Children can grow quite well with out ever having had milk or soy and although at this point its inconclusive many times more Teen aged Boys have Gynomasty (male Brest development) 25% was the norm its been suggested that its over 40% now and early onset Male pattern baldness then was the norm just 40 years ago and they are some of the highest consumers of pre packaged foods Hmmmmm vary suspicious
theirs also another study and i cant remember this specifics but its been suggested that thees an alarming rate of low Body Hair on Male teens thees days i go to the gym allot and i can tell you thers not that many hairy chested guys any more and there not all shaving it off

PS i don't care how much you disagree with the statements iv made i don't want to be personally attacked for the previous stamens is tuff if read here and there and i stand by the belief i my self had Brest Cancer and prier to my subsequent treatment ment was a high consumer of soy the first question my doc asked me is do you eat soy she then told me never to consum it ever again and explained the estrogen affects of it and guess what I'm also sterile as far as I'm concerned its a plague on humanity we shouldn't even be feeding it to live stock

Thanks Paulo, is it all soy or just the GM soy your'e talking about?

The cows milk issue is one that interests me because I read a book by DR Raymond Francis in which he claims that cows milk is very bad for us. He says it actualy pulls calcium from the body, the reverse of what the dairy councel claims. I've always wondered about his claim so now I'll have to spend some time looking into it.

Don't think I have much soy in my diet but I'm not hairy, not bald, definitely not sterile, and didn't take PE this year.... and I drink lots of milk every day. I did hear of a recent experiment (in Greenland or Iceland, one) in which it was 'proven' that children raised on high levels of soy tended towards developmental abnormalities.
As for Monsanto, I have nothing else to say except I prefer the food the planet came equipt with .
Oh, and if I shave, it'll be my mug only. Can't believe somebody'd wanna take that much time shaving .
