Winter Olympics
I don't know about anyone else but I have become addicted to watching the Olympics. I find myself passionately rooting for folks in sports that I hardly know anything about! Figure skating and Ice Dancing come to mind. Short track speed skating is another sport that I haven't devoted one minute of thought to before the Olympics. And wow! I just finished watching the amazing upset in men's ice hockey of the Canadian team by the USA. I'm appreciating the athletes from the many countries so much more. I love this. Unfortunately I'll have to wait another 4 years to see the next one.

Re: Winter Olympics
As far as the organizing goes, I think Vancouver is doing a great job! A few hiccups, mostly the weather, which they can't control. I have Olympic fever!

Re: Winter Olympics
I like the summer ones better, but I do enjoy watching the winter olympics too. You dont have to know the sport or even like the sport, to enjoy it at the Olympics!

Re: Winter Olympics
For some reason I found myself watching curling yesterday. I don't know any of the rules but it was fun to watch.

Re: Winter Olympics
I wouldn't say curling is fun to watch, but it is nice to see Canada kick butt in something! We're not doing so well.

Re: Winter Olympics
Curling is really exciting to watch in the last two or three ends. Other than that I take a nap. My wife and I do enjoy the winter olympics much more than the summer ones.

+1 for Winter Olympics
That USA vs Canada hockey game was the best I've ever watched.

Re: Winter Olympics
I would rank it up there next to 1980's 'Miracle on Ice'. I was hoarse the next morning of both games from all my screaming and yelling at the TV.

I'm diggin' the Olympics, too. I like the summer Olympics too, but I have to vote for the winter Olympics as my overall favorite. Watching women's bobsled right now!

Re: Winter Olympics
Any thoughts now that it's all over? That was one great hockey game! I think I can brag a bit here, since I'm Canadian - the most golds by a host country ever in a winter Olympics, the most golds ever by any country ever in a winter Olympics, Canada's best total medal count ever. I'd say we did pretty good. As far as the games themselves - also, very good. Amazing in fact! What did you think?

Re: Winter Olympics
That was a good hockey game,I nearly #$% myself when US scored to tie the game.Very proud canadien here!!!.I was in vegas all last week and you knew who was canadien because of there canadien olympic clothing that everyone was wearing.I did not see a single american sporting anything to do with the olympics,or did I see it on a TV screen anywhere. It kinda shocked me because they are going crazy over here in this country.I bet it was different when held in salt lake city.To all you in nevada, that place is amazing!!!!

Re: Winter Olympics
I actually was somewhat skeptical of the organization in the beginning of the games. I was surprised that a city and outlying area with a history of snow-free winter periods would get the Games. The luge/bobsled track tragedy also made me wonder, as apparently there have been a record number of crashes there at the track. That said, I must give Vanoc high marks, because the rest of the Games were fantastic. True, the weather problem persisted, but everyone persevered and the final result, in my book, was gold. My experience with Canadians has always been super positive, so I guess I'm not surprised. Regarding the gold medal hockey game, one of the most exciting I have seen. I think if nothing else that you Canadians will have to agree that the USA is an up and coming hockey powerhouse. Your reign is not secure!!!! Now onward for the Washington Capitals to the Stanley Cup!!!

Re: Winter Olympics
I thought the US didn't have a shot, but @ least we made it interesting by tieing with like a half minute left in Reg.. Whoever had seats got their money's worth for that game. :^)
