![]() Well one of the yards has tunnels under the ground but has to be roughly the size of a mouse(ish) size. Do you know any effective means to scaring these things off..? Or killing them w/o demo?
If they came out for Bacon like crawfish I'd done got them all by now.. lol If they came above ground I'd knock them off w/ my pellet gun, but that isn't a possibility. Thanks :^) |

![]() My dog enjoys sniffing around these mounds created by moles!
I have no moles this year yet but I found him digging-up and clawing a mole to death last year, and several other miss-figured carcasses in my yard= lawnmower food ![]() In my un-fenced front yard I stuffed some mounds with my dog's hair from a brush and this seemed to do the trick! I heard of other people mixing garlic powder and chili powder to deter them. I have heard of castor oil/beans used, but I think this might be poisonous to other animals. |

![]() Best mole killer and safest for the dogs is Tomcat jelly worms. Looks just like a bass bait. Carefully open the top of a tunnel and slip the worm in with a long pair of needle nose pliers or hemostats. Cover up without collapsing the tunnel too much and repeat like 20 ft apart around the yard. They find it and carry it back to the nest for family dinner. Do a good job and you'll not see them around for several years. Available at HD or Lowes.
Tomcat Mole || Kill, Capture, and Repel Moles Don't let the dogs see you doing this!!! |

![]() I was worried when my lab was a puppy. Now I have another pup that has the sharpest eyesight and reacts fast to whatever crawls or flies.
That's why I said don't let the dogs see you sticking things in the ground. They will investigate. Like Kat said Tomcat really does the job. No more moles for years. |

![]() my extension office seems to think that moles are not a problem because they eat grubs and other critters. what harm do they do?

![]() I cannot get multiquote to work but let me tell you that the extension office in MD along with the local news stations told me that the 17 year locusts would not damage trees. Now I'll explain how the Norway Maple (seedling from his grandparents' home so I don't care if it was a trash tree) I planted for DS was crippled by them (took a certified Arborist friend pruning for 6 years to make it grow half decently after the central was gone) and the fruit cocktail tree I was growing where all the grafts were devoured by the pests which left a really nice peach killed 2 years later by the water company. Locusts. Wanna talk about the expert's expertise? I don't; I'm done.
Moles eat your potatoes--ate mine. What else? I don't know but I don't want anything in my garden unless approved by me. I don't mind starlings; they do eat grubs. Get a few Honestly, I'm a pretty much live and let live person but I plant for ME. I'll share but when you take it all, you're out of there.

![]() Moles? Pish posh. We use to throw smoke bombs down woodchuck holes; my stupid sister actually trapped them and took them to a park. Moron.
Hey, I need a way to deter armadillos; sprinkling cayenne helps but I'm lazy and don't want to treat after rain (what's that?) or watering so I need a more permanent "go away" remedy. Or a really good recipe in case Mr. Cocoa bags one...we're getting close to him buying ammo for his pellet gun...

![]() Nope. That guy is very brazen and there are lights or some. Apparently he knows that a swift kick from a croc enclosed foot will do no damage. (Or does now.)
Weeks after that "battle" where the concrete block stood his ground while chattering a little but not running off in fear, I'm still giggling. Yeah, I've done some stupid things in my life but even marrying my moron ex doesn't touch chasing an armored creature around for 1/2 an hour (tearing up gardens--some planted and some potted) then taking aim and saying "Take this" with total abandon. "Football": 8 Mr. Cocoa: -8 No recipe? ![]()
