Re: What made you smile today?
Today my brugmansia flower started getting some flower and it will be open by tomorrow! That definitely made me smile! My first plumeria flower of the year also opened today which made me smile too! And I noticed that my Spiral ginger is now almost 5 feet tall so I think it might even flower this fall if I get lucky! I never expected it to get that big, Im so happy!

Re: What made you smile today?
Thanks for the info! I already knew (and heard horror stories) about Oleander Poisoning, but its important to keep the message around! I think that Florida actually has a law that Oleanders cant be planted next to the beach for the same reason (people used the branches as a skewer and died from the poisoning). The flowers are beautiful, but they aren't good plants for people with dogs that like to chew plants, or people with little kids.

Re: What made you smile today?
The Oleander is a very pretty plant and blooms in many colors. We had several here but destroyed them since we have cattle that love to eat anything green. The last Paw Paw tree finally got knocked over and I love the fruit. Oleander grows in many of the subdivisions because of its beauty and fast growth.

Re: What made you smile today?
SOUTHERN TEN COMMANDMENTS
Some people have trouble with all those 'shall's' and 'shall not's' in the Ten Commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, in middle Tennessee they translated it into ‘Jackson County’ language.... (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro , TN ). (1) Just one God (2) Put nothin' before God (3) Watch yer mouth (4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin' (5) Honor yer Ma & Pa (6) No killin' (7) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal. (8) Don't take what ain't yers (9) No tellin' tales or gossipin' (10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff And bless your little heart....

Re: What made you smile today?
???
I don't want to get into a big fracas here, as it sounds like this is a deeply held belief, but this is not the place for it. And there is a reason for the wall of separation between church and state, and thank G-d there is.

Re: What made you smile today?
I smiled when I saw my Butterfly ginger has big buds on it now and will be blooming probably by tomorrow! Thats after a light dusting of record breaking snow this past weekend! Im surprised my plants handled the rough weather so well. Even my Hawaiian ti plants were unfazed by the snow!
And I hate flu shots. I get sick from them everytime and I think they are the one of the most painful shots that you can get in your arm. But its still slightly better than getting the flu!

This quote made me smile and laugh today...
