Default Visit to Orlando - hotel banana fruit

Arrived at my hotel in Orlando earlier this week. And what do you think was one of the first things I spotted?

A banana tree in fruit - right in front of the hotel.

Nicely overdone landscaping.

Ripening fruit peeking at me.

That plant was 40 ft below the bridge entry to the hotel. No stairway and I left the boots home.

Besides - brought 2 hands of Goldfinger to munch on between Harry Potter and those roller coasters. What a rush - whatever happened to the "Wild Mouse" and other such civilized rides of yesteryear?

Nice pics! Its the Royal Pacific in Universal right? They had 5 large coconut palms on their property also. The cold snap 2 winters ago killed 3 of them and damaged the remaining 2. When I was there last April, the 2 looked like they were going to survive. I'll have to check up on them again this year!
Its a nice hotel if you like tropical plants! They have nice bismarkia palms in the front of the hotel and some plumerias by the pool area. Lots of banana plants in between and there is a Cavendish banana right near the entrance of Islands of Adventure thats always fruiting!
