AT&T Yahoo messing w/ me
 

Thursday a.m., I tried getting at my email & this forum but puter wouldn't let me. So, I restarted & pop up told me I had incorrect password. (I never turned the puter off night before.) It gave a # to call for tech support. The guy told me to re type my password where old one was. The old one showed 9 dots .. my PW only has 8 characters. The guy seemed confused. He then asked me the "security question" which was .."who is your favorite singer?" I don't remember anyone ever asking that, and I don't have a fav singer. He gave clue ...starts with a P. I couldn't even think of a singer starting w/'P'. He then told me to fax copy of my bill & D.L. to tech support - because I failed the security quest. They are s'posed to call me after 5 today. If my PW was wrong, how come I can get online here at Mike's house puter?
Did someone hack my puter? I will have a few things to say to ATT later!
Does anyone even have a favorite singer? What happened to 'mothers maiden name' or 'name of first pet'? Those things don't change...fav singer can change. I'm fuming.

We just went through the security question thing afew weeks ago as we were suddenly unable to pay our phone bill online. They asked Ric what my security question was... I yelled out.. they're supposed to ask YOU the security question and we give the answer. They insisted that we were supposed to ask the security question. I said, if I knew the security question and the answer to it.. then what good would the security question be? It was a mute point anyway as we hadn't forgotten our password. We ended up having to cancel the online bill pay and then newly apply.

Just now got the puter runnung! Tech support never called yesterday so I called them .. 2 hrs ago... that's how long it took. They needed the PW to master account which I never use (att.net), but why? - I use yahoo. And then ... that security question - again. Tech was ready to connect me to higher level when jokingly, I said only singers I can even think of, starting w/P, is Prince... Patsy Cline...& he said THAT'S IT. Yeah, she has a good voice but so does Celine D. & Whitney Huston (before the drugs) LOL
Passwrd is now reset, & diff security question. Hope this doesn't happen to you:)
