Re: Surf Fishin and fish tale thread
Since I've lived here all my life, alligators don't bother me. Unless I happen on a really large bull gator or a female on a nest, generally they won't bother you. As a kid, we used to tag the big ones on the tail while they were sunning, daring each other to the biggest ones. Dumb things we do as kids.

Re: Surf Fishin and fish tale thread
I've been fishing off the St Augustine pier(Vilano), the public docks in Palatka, and down to the Daytona Beach Sunglow pier. Actually caught a legal edible sheephead finally. I caught a lot of too-small fish too.
On Thanksgiving I'm planning on fishing at the Skyway Pier in St Petersburg. (all FLorida) |

Fresh water side of the low level dam......Port St Lucie.
BIG EVERYTHING.............Bluegill, catfish, bass, crayfish leeches,Stuff, snails, fish.....Blah blah Caught a few Bluegill , freshwater crayfish. ..Other side of low level dam..... Totally different ......artificial everything will work... Absolute animals these fish are. .... This is where the BIG snook/tarpon will hit ..... The bigger the boil at the dam the better the fishing........ Just scoping out the fishing hole..... More holes/dams to fish next week ....This place drives me plum fishing crazy . ................. Great local gems here. Last edited by cincinnana : 11-23-2014 at 07:48 AM. |

Re: Surf Fishin and fish tale thread
This is for Kubali...
I told him we tossed back at least 12 fish . This pond took us by surprise..... We had light spin((4-6 lb) tackle Super light 4lb test on 12 foot graphite crappie cane poles with kid bobbers. Fish were 5 lb+ and broke everything we had....but we got a few. . Untitled by Hostafarian, on Flickr Wife made me fry them up ....on the back of my pickup on the drive.....said they smelled like fish....and so it goes...: .woohoonaner: Fish and cider by Hostafarian, on Flickr Last edited by cincinnana : 01-28-2017 at 08:56 PM. |

Re: Surf Fishin and fish tale thread
Looks like fun. Reminds me of my childhood days of fishing for bass and channel cats in local ponds.
