Forgot to mention Specs. You can catch the limit in half an hour in many canals around lake O. If you find the schcools.

Ok. Let me rub it in some more. The limit for specs (crappie, calico bass) is 15. Taste like freshwater flounder. And they grow huge here in S Fl.

Pass the tartar sauce!

Almost forgot about triple tail. A 17 pounder is common and you catch them sight fishing. Right on the surface near structure - bridge pilings, navigation bouys and day markers.

Wonderful flavor and some of the better restaurants have them on the menu from time to time. Looks like a godzilla of a bluegill with 3 tails.

Sounds cool, will google that.

Funny thing is we call structure on our sandy beaches a little trough or a slight hole in the bottom where the predators can ambush the bait.

Barred Surf Perch spawning season is almost here so we should see some nice sized ones soon.

Haven't been able to access the board til now so here is my report from Sunday morning.

Much fun, lots o' perch and a couple of foul hooked wiggles. Caught the outgoing tide and fished until the storm started dumping rain with a chilly wind. Brrr

Arrival

My biggest BSP of the day

Good times!

That guy would be great live lined bait for snook.

Croaker is similar sized good bait too. Also pinfish, pigfish and blue runners. We can catch and keep snook right now until Dec 15. Slot is 28 - 32 inches.

Man you guys are using some big baits! Here we use a whole small mack for big sharks, or a small perch for Leopard sharks. There is nothing in the shallows this time of year (maybe never) that would eat a 12" BSP. I guess it could be worse but I'd love to have the kind fishing you guys have!
