Storm Damage!

Lightning, hail, strong wind, I even saw a funnel cloud trying to form but then it dissipated. :nanadrink: I have about 50' of grean beans planted, 30' of cucumbers and a few small beds of peas and carrots. Most of it was washed away, and I can barley see where the rows were.

When I would find seeds (usually the grean bean seeds) I would put them back where I thought they were. The biggest thing is my greenhouse! I might be able to get one more spring out of it (its only 3yrs old) if I put some kind of tape over the tears. Anyway I just hope everything comes up.

In this picture you can see the garden bed, and all the washed away soil, under the tarps are the carrots. I dont want to do anything until the seeds come up.

And this in red is where the walkways were:

I put the tent there 2 days before the storm hit, it was there to scare off the deer and to sleep in if I felt like it. ;)

The greenhouse damage:

 Hope that doesn't happen again.

Hope you have a nice day, and talk to you again soon :)

Good luck, we get a gulley washer sometimes also. With the slope of your place, you might think about terracing to avoid washouts liker that. Of course if it comes down heavy it causes bare ground to get pushed around.
Thanks.

Re: Storm Damage!

Blake,

It’s terrible what the storm did to your greenhouse and your veggie garden.
:( I hope you can repair your greenhouse with a tape and minimum cost. There have been more severe storms than usual in the Southeast Region. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it is the last bad storm for you.

Sorry the storm hit your area so badly :( The greenhouse looks like it can be repaired so I hope it can!
We got 8.44 inches of rain yesterday here so I can relate! All the streets are flooded out (I never saw cars get carried away by water here, but that happened yesterday!). Foutunately there werent any bad thunderstorms so my plants were not damaged (there was a lot of wind at one point last night though so I had 100s of leaves and small branches to clean up on the deck.) Now we are going to get some thunderstorms today so I hope they arent damaging!
