I'm going to see lows of 44 and 41 for Mon and Tues nite.

I haven't disappeared off the map... yet! 6°F night low Mon. in N.C. ? I don't think so. . . they said I'd see 17° the other day and it only got to 28° in my location. Not a problem so far up here. Maybe we will skip spring and go straight to summer!?

Temps to get to 22f tonight. It's also raining so my covers are wet. I do have one GrandNain mat and Abagnale covered with xmas lights on them, with a few potted bananas under the cover with the Grand Nain. The Gros Michals are inside.

Will the covers do any good wet? If not I can go dry them, but I doubt I have enough tarp to cover all of them.

Don't forget to check those water spigots and water pipes in your garages, they will freeze and burst in just a few hours during this cold spell.

I've got a heat lamp on the well pump and I'll be running water in a thin stream from three spots. This is insane for here.

At 2:30 AM it's 54 degrees with 40% RH. Walked the dogs early and they loved it. Me not so much. Woof!

At 6:30 AM it was 19F in Pace, FL.
I have not yet checked on my orange trees to see how my watering setup faired. I surrounded the three trees with a plastic enclosure an had a water spray inside to raise the temperature above 26.

It made it to 22f here about 5-7am.

I was up at that coldest point, and it didn't get above freezing until around 10am.

Since I was awake, getting ready to leave for work, I got a glass of water and threw it up into the air in that 22f temps.

Do you know what you get when you throw a glass of water into the air at 22f?

Wet. That's what you get.

I hate cold. It has no redeeming qualities.

Got down to about 25 at my place last night. Supposed to go about the same tonight, currently 28. I haven't done any preps besides mulching and just about everything looked pretty burned this morning. Will find out what makes it and what doesn't. Big change from last winter for sure.

Trying to not get depressed. LOL!

Well it's 26F (10 degrees warmer than it was last night @ this time).. I'm just glad tonight is the last freeze in the 10 Forecast for N. LA.. S. Ark has 2 nights down to 32F in the same forecast, so its all good..

Can we keep all the rest of them polar blasts going to anywhere but here.. :^)

At 6:30am 1/8/14 the outside thermometer says 20 F only 4 degrees colder than the predicted 24 and weather.com days it is 22 F which is only 2 degrees warmer than it is actually is. I will leave my Satsuma trees protected until I am sure that it will be well above 26 for Wed night.

Predicted high and lo for today --- 82/69.

Big time rain all night. Areas to south of me got flooded bad and the kids are swimming in the streets in the backed up sewage tank over flow. Eee-Uww!

Supposed to be 74 tomorrow with rain.

Took the machete to the nanners that were pretty well mush, and filled up an 8 ft pickup bed. Looks like my backyard has been clear cut. Pretty depressing! The basjoos and some of the orinoco pseudostems I feel will come back if we don't get any more polar vorti this winter lol.

Yep its pretty sloshy out w/ all the rain.. Temps are good.. Now the definition of depressing is my spiral, and shampoo ginger.. I hope they come back since the are both heavily mulched, banana's I think will be just fine, just behind the power curve due to that vortex crap.. :^)
