OK this isn't exactly a vent but just some crap I have to get off my chest. Last month Steve was kind to hook me up w/ some Ice Creams and Caligolds and I was edging the 2nd caligold when I discover this lady in my backyard, red convertible in my driveway, and one huge luggage rack under her shirt.. Some Doctor did some fine work for I (Me being a Higher educated neanderthal) had trouble looking her in the eye. I figured my backyard, I'm sweaty and tired I deserve a good peek, yah know.. So back to the reason she was there.. She goes I see you working on your yard, and I know how it was before and how its looking alot better again I'd like you to do my back yard, since I know you know what your doing. So I asked her about her landscaping, and she told me what it cost her over the past year, and said they just didn't get the look she wanted. I said to bad you can't get your money back, since they cost more than what the good Doctor put in front of her. So in the end I asked a bunch of questions and got the dumbfounded look from a High school principal. So I said I'd take it under consideration in the end, but thought myself if I was student of hers I'd be in so much trouble..lol getting sent to her office.. lmao All those poor boys.. but anyway the nerve of that woman, she must have I want syndrome... enough is never enough.. Kinda like us and banana's :^)

I hate it how the squirrels or birds get to my Brown Turkey figs when they're still too hard and small to pick.

I hated that most of my figs were so fat after we got rain that they split so not only did they draw birds, but bee's, and wasp's as well.. I hate that the birds won't leave my cantelope alone.. for some reason.. :^)

My motorcycle was nearly stuck by a STOP sign running Prius.
When confronted @ the next light the driver replied that I should drive a car if I wanted to be safe.
HA!
I told her the Prius was gonna get smashed by one of those big trucks if she kept running through intersections.
Everyone now threatens to call the POLICE over the slightest variance from their ideal world view.

I suggested she consume a lethal dose of fecal matter, then closed my visor.

Angry Re: A Place To Vent

As many of you saw my post,I should have had a HF GH by now. But have to wait till a later date, and hope that they have them on sale then. SOO now I have to use a storage closet connected to the back of the house. Hoping my Siam's and other nanner pups will be okay. A few hanging baskets and others. Plan is to use a small thermo control heater,a strip light with two 20watt or more grow lights. Running for who knows how many hrs?? I just want them to stay alive, not really worried about killer growth. Considering where I live on the coast and if we have a normal winter then the heater wouldn't run much or be needed at all. As long as we have a normal winter. Worried about bringing some inside as my kids ir the cats might mess with them. Makes me wish I could be one of those people that could go out and buy anything and not worry.

I can't say I have anything to complain about. I'm a little disappointed that the "Texas Star" I've been growing for a few years finally flowered and turned out to be a basjoo, but it's still a pretty plant and a pretty flower. Haven't decided if I'll get rid of the mat or not. I've got lots to be happy about. Michael, my son, is advancing in Boy Scouts well and will soon make Eagle. He went through his Order of the Arrow ordeal this weekend and I finally dusted off my OA sash from 41-42 years ago and went to the ordeal and advanced to the Brotherhood honors level so it was a fun father/son weekend. Hope you all get through whatever distresses you quickly.

Necroposting.

The only thing worse than necroposters is starting another "real ice cream" thread

But seriously.

My coworker goes into the gas station and buys some Cavendish, then comes to the truck and says. "got some bananas" as he puts one in my bag and then started eating my Michigan Gala apples !
WTF man you bought ME some bananas ?
Have you seen my backyard ?

If we're gonna trade then first you need to have some thing I WANT !

Oh boy....here we go.....

In light of the recent happenings with the pop music industry's token prick, Justin Bieber, I think now is the right time for me to voice my opinion on the state of music today. For those of you who haven't heard, Bieber caused $20k damage by egging his neighbors' house, an act of vandalism that will (hopefully) land him in jail. Now, let's take a look at what exactly happened with Justin Bieber. The music industry found this kid from Canada who could play a few instruments, sing, and write a few songs. They took him in and made him into a superstar. They cultivated him into a teenage girl's dream boy. They hired writers and producers to “help” him make music, and he became the person who performed music written under his name, and in the process, also a spoiled brat. Now, here's the thing. He's not the only pop music legend that has followed this formula. Take a look at Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Ke$ha, and a majority of other big name music acts. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all mainstream and pop music is bad, nor are all of these people bad people. Some of them are genuinely talented and genuinely good and wholesome people, but others are essentially just performing artists, and nothing more. Some are even complete and utter jerks, like our friend Bieber. But the bottom line is that they are the ones who deploy mass-produced “music” to the populace that is created by the industry simply to generate profit.

And therein lies the problem. Much of mainstream music today is intended only to satisfy the masses. Songs are designed specifically to be catchy and relatable to the immediate interests of a majority of people in society. And when music is relatable and catchy, people listen to it. Bottom line. The people who produce, perform, and distribute this music resemble a marketing team rather than a group of actual musicians. This is not what music is all about, is it?

So then, what is music all about? Well, let's look at where it came from and what it's supposed to do for us. Music has been around perhaps longer than civilization itself, and has been used to experience emotions not attainable otherwise, to enhance spirituality, to connect with other human beings on a level that is simply not possible by any other means, and most of all, make us happy. Those who create it pour their hearts and souls into as well as their talent and skills. So then, what is “real” music? It's music that fits that definition; music that is created by people who are talented at what they do, and who want to share their emotions and experience with others through organized sound. And I don't care what genre it is. It could be the underground gangster rap that a teenager in Compton listens to that tells a story about hardships and experiences that he can relate to. Or the emotionally charged death metal that your high school's resident metal head pumps into his ears through his iPod in between class periods. Or the loud, dynamic, big room house music that thousands of people listen to and move their bodies to at electronic dance music festivals. And yes, it could be one of those rare pop music hits that was written, recorded, and performed by a truly talented and successful musician. It doesn't really matter in the end. Because all of this real music is created by people who want to share some aspect of their life experience with others. Music is not supposed to be about commercialization and feeding the masses. It's not supposed to be created by a specially commissioned team and mass marketed to generate profits for big name record companies. It's supposed to be about human beings communicating their hopes, dreams, fears, wishes, and emotions through a universal language that we can all understand. And that language is music.

I rest my case. End of rant.
