Photo Storing Service
I've used Photobucket for many years and have reached the point where I want to move away from them, so I'm curious what all of you are using to store & organize your photos of plants, family and everything else. I've been looking and experimenting with Irista, which is owned by Canon, a little bit and like what it has to offer
Here's a brief list of what I'm looking for. I'm not looking for a free service 1) Storage (GBs and GBs of space) 2) Albums - ability to organize photos into albums (sub-albums would be sweet!) 3) Photo tagging - ability to apply tags to photos to easily search across later 4) Format - I want to be able to upload Raw images So, what are you using and love or what have you used in the past that you disliked? |
Re: Photo Storing Service
Take a look at Flickr.
A bunch of forum members have gone to it . It has eveything you are looking for and then some. Pretty easy to use once you get familiar with the features Click on Cincinnanas photos for an example |
Re: Photo Storing Service
Third party hosting is good if that is what you want or need. ... Just remember those services can always go out of business; have system crashes with lost data; claim a right of unlimited use of your pictures; and change from free to paid service. Then ransom your pictures back to you at a fee. ... Then BIG BROTHER (aka: FBI) has easy access too if needed.
The point is, always keep your pictures backed up on you own system and/or CDs in case of loss by the hosting service ... My pictures are backed up on 3 different puters/HDs and CDs. ... None are illegal. ... And, I can access them from remote locations. |

And there is not really "censership" of photo opertunity. Keyword any tag imaginable and low and behold......a photo has been posted. Videos are welcome also....Lol Pretty cool for a hosting sight.... |
Re: Photo Storing Service
I think the thing that madr me immediately wonder or have a second thought on Flickr was the fact that it requires a Yahoo email address ;)
That being said, I'll take a look at it again |
