Although the first frost hit my garden last night, my Marian passion flower (a new variety I got from a grower in FL last year) really responded to the warm weather we had 2 weeks ago and put on a pretty impressive show of buds and flowers that I wasn't expecting this late in the year. And now that it's been in the house for a week, it looks like it wants to continue to impress me!

The fruit of the Frederick seedling looks more yellow than the Frederick. Is that because of a stage of development or do you think they're different?

They are different.I did get ripe fruit last year with very few seed and pulp.The fruit was more yellow than Fredericks. From what I understand most Edulis Hybrid are a combination of Edulis Sims and Edulis Flavicarpa,so the plant from seed could take the characteristics from either one.Maybe this year I will get a fruit with enough pulp so I can taste it.I also have seedlings from seedlings no flowers yet

The 'Frederick' I planted photos of last year is pretty big now and I'm getting lots of flowers now that the weather has warmed up. I've got at least 15 flowers today.
