![]() ![]() Actually, temperature-wise, I am more comfortable in the Winter than in the Summer. And, I really enjoy walking in falling snow before it accumulates too much. But, I dislike removing snow from my sidewalks and I curse people who don't remove snow from their sidewalks. In particular, businesses with parking lots, e.g., gas stations and strip malls, plow slow onto their sidewalks thereby forcing pedestrians to walk in the streets. On Christmas Eve, my 420,000 BTU/hr. steam boiler permanently broke down. To buy myself time and keep my water pipes from freezing, I bought a 30,000 BTU/hr. ventless gas heater from Menards and installed it in my basement. I also installed electric space heaters in my two bathrooms. This arrangement works surprisingly well, but, I didn't know what to expect, therefore I had much anxiety. I think I can hold out until Spring. Unlike Donald Trump, I hate dealing with contractors (to get a new boiler). Dealing with contractors is now the greatest source of my mental stress. My doctor gave me a prescription for clonazepam. |

![]() What do you see wrong with my doctor? The only good news in my life is that I have, by far, the best and cheapest Medicare Advantage Plan in 6 years. I give credit to Trump because insurance companies are corporations that benefit from reduced corporate taxes. I believe that my good insurance is trickle down theory in action. Anyway, my doctor copay was $5 and my drug copay was zero.
Regarding lights, my electric cost is $0.11 per kilowatt hour. What's yours? |

![]() Yes,,, global warming my a$$,,
get this,, I have a five gallon bucket that's about half full of old water softner salt sitting outside,, it has about six inches of water on top of the salt,, the water has never froze, not even a crust of ice on top.. but the salt underneath the water is froze solid.. I checked the temp of the water the other day and it was 9 degrees. I know that the water is completely saturated with salt and that's what keeps it from freezing down to 6 degrees. but I wonder why the salt itself is froze solid? you can take a small shovel and try to dig some salt out of the bottom,, its hard as a rock,, lol |

![]() It's not frozen, it just tends to "melt" together.
