Default Oil Disaster Spill Solutions?

I received this in an email today and thought it was interesting enough to pass along.

Could it work? I don't know but I think we need to be trying to do something! These two guys even have an idea to use it for fuel once it has soaked up. What do you guys think?

Cool solution to clean up oil disaster. [VIDEO]

i know they are doing something like that with straw mixed with human hair. Around here all the hair salons are donating the extra hair to that project. I'm on the florida gulf coast so maybe it's more publicized here, but it seems like a good idea!

I will have to look that up with the hair and straw. So far it doesn't look like BP has been successful with their plugging efforts. Hopefully that will change soon. ~J

Looks like a pretty good idea for small oil slick areas. It might leave some debris in the water but still, it looks pretty effective.
This is going to be a probelm for a while and I hope they clean it up soon.

Good luck!

I hear they got it capped off somehow yesterday or the day before. Let's hope it holds and they can clean it up before it does any more damage!!

Found this video to be particularly fitting...

Haha, raverboi, I posted that in the other BP spill thread.
Even the hair idea is implemented there.
