Never give up.

I was going to Florida, for a trade show, toward the end of September last year. I procrastinated too long and, by the time I went to actually make the reservation, the hotel I usually stay in had raised their prices twice. I decided to shop around for a different hotel, and found a deal at Expedia. While at the site, I found something that said I was eligible for a $75.00 gas card, so I signed up. The card was to arrive 4 to 6 weeks after travel was completed. That time came and went, so I called the customer service number, and actually got to speak to a live person, but she was useless. Then, I went to the customer service e-mail address. That was better; they responded within a few hours, but it was basically an excuse. The promotion was over, the response was so great that they ran out of cards, etc., etc.
After something like 16 e-mail exchanges, over 5 months, the last of which where I said I was going to the attorney general, and other agencies, the card was mailed on Feb. 25. I think that the only reason that I got it was because I kept bugging them. The envelope that the card came in had my name and address hand written, so it was, apparently, not part of some mass mailing. I think they just finally decided that they'd better shut this guy up, before he actually does go to law enforcement agencies.

I took a trip thru Orbitz...air & hotel. They rated the hotel/motel as 3 stars & it was YUK. They sure talk big don't they?
They said if you're not happy to email them, so I did & never got a response. What a nightmare!

Re: Never give up.

Recently I had a problem with my internet/TV and telephone provider in which they claimed that I owed them over $600 and billing me almost $200 a month. I persist that I paid them already in full up to the time that I returned the devices I was using. They kept on billing me each month and my bills were surmounting until I complained to the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General and one more government agency who takes care of problems on telecommunication I forgot the name. And I did complain after giving them 2 weeks notice.
After the BBB wrote to them, I was given a clean bill of health plus a reimbursement check from overpaying them.
I am now happy with my new provider and I am paying much less each month.
So be careful when you signed up for their ads that says $19 for internet and $44 for cable for 3 months. The 4rth month they'll suck it to you and they won't listen to your complains because you signed up for the whole year.
